Corner of Church St and Market St Wollongong 8am, 9:30am, 11am, 5pm & 7pm each Sunday
Following the Martin Place hostage siege, Archbishop Davies recently led a packed service of Hope and Prayer for Sydney in St Andrew’s Cathedral, attended by the NSW Governor, General David Hurley, Premier Mike Baird and the Police Commissioner, Andrew Scipione.
Archbishop Glenn Davies said,
At times like this our bodies ache for rest; our spirits long for relief; and our hearts yearn for hope.
There is hope at the end of this long dark tunnel. It is the hope that only God can provide and this Christmas he speaks more loudly than ever, when Jesus says: ‘Come unto me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest’.
Rev Sandy Grant, Senior Minister of St Michael’s, said,
By tradition the Archbishop normally preaches in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney, but we are delighted to host him as he visits Wollongong to allow the retiring Dean of Sydney, Phillip Jensen, the chance to preach his last official sermon on Christmas Day at St Andrew’s.
