We want to see more women disciples of Jesus,
shining as lights in the City of Wollongong.

Women at St Michael’s are involved in a variety of ministries, Bible studies, ministries, women’s events, and other opportunities to gather together. The details of some key activities are found below. If you would like any more information about these or other Women’s Ministries, send us an email at

Women on Wednesday (WOW)

At WOW we aim to

◾Bring women together to study God’s word, pray and grow in knowledge of God

◾Explore biblical womanhood

◾Connect women into church life

◾Provide crèche support for mums

◾Facilitate pastoral care and mentoring relationships

◾Encourage evangelism and acts of service by women

G4G Women’s Bible Teaching Day

Gospel 4 the Gong (G4G) is a partnership initiative between St Michael’s and several other local churches in Wollongong. Each year we invite women from local churches to join us at a bible teaching day conference which we put on at the local Salvation Army Conference Centre. It’s a privilege to be able to get together with other Christian women so close to home, to be able to hear God’s word taught by gifted speakers. In 2015, the G4G Women’s Bible Teaching Day was held on Sat 8th August, when we heard from Fiona Millar on the topic of Forgiveness.

Fiona Millar’s handling of the topic of Forgiveness was careful, loving, scriptural and definitely well received. It was also comprehensive and meaty and worth a second look so check out her talks via the links below…

October Breakfast: “Women of Influence”

At our women’s breakfasts, women from all congregations gather to hear God’s Word, eat a delicious breakfast and encourage each other as Christian sisters. Our next women’s breakfast will be held on Saturday 24th October 2015, when Jenny Shannon will speak on the topic of “Women of influence”.

Women’s event – “An Afternoon in Tanzania”

This was held on Saturday 2oth June from 2pm in the church hall. We heard from Jodie Madry how Rehema is changing women’s lives in Tanzania, enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, shopped for beautiful African craft and were able to make a donation to their work.

Women’s conferences

Each year we encourage St Michael’s women to take advantage of the excellent women’s conferences that are available. Not only are they a great opportunity to learn from God’s word, they are times of fellowship with other women at St Michael’s.

EQUIP Women’s conference

In 2015 EQUIP women was live streamed to us on Sat 23rd May. The topic was Love Actually with Carmelina Read who spoke on 1 Corinthians 5-7 alongside Christian sexologist and author, Patricia Weerakoon.

EQUIP 2014 talks were on 1 Corinthians 1-4. This is what one of our ladies said about what she learned

“I was challenged by the idea that it’s not possible to remove the foolishness of the message of Christ. That when I speak about Jesus, the world will consider me foolish. But the Bible tells us that the foolishness of the world is the wisdom of God.” Kate, 5pm

We hope you can join us for the next EQUIP!
